Bordered by three significant waterways—Lake Ontario, Irondequoit Bay, and the Genesee River—Irondequoit, New York, is known as a place “where the land and water meet.” This is the actual translation of Irondequoit in the Iroquois language, which was one of the languages of the First Nations people in the northeast of North America.
